Welcome, and thank you for visiting the website of the Armuchee High School and Armuchee Middle School band programs! Our goal is to educate all students in our program by utilizing a variety of teaching strategies and methods. One important method we utilize with our students is the method of transference of knowledge.
Using this strategy, students build foundations on their respective instruments, learn information about reading and playing music, and practice techniques while practicing and performing so that they can build a set of skills and strategies in order to perform any and every piece of music they might encounter.
We offer a variety of performing ensembles to our students so that they have every opportunity to to be a part of a diverse music experience. Some of our ensembles include: The Pride of the Indians Marching Band, symphonic band, jazz band, winter percussion, and winter guard.
Students are also highly encouraged to audition and participate in honor bands through out the school year. Some of these include: Floyd County Honor Band, District 7 Honor Band, All-State Honor Band, and the Jacksonville State University Southerners Honor Band.
